A useful checker goes beyond formatting and keyword counts. It asks whether important information is easy to find and strong enough to support the candidate’s claims.
Four review layers
- Parseability: headings, order, dates, and structure are readable.
- Clarity: job title, scope, and responsibilities are unambiguous.
- Relevance: experience most relevant to the target job appears first.
- Evidence: claims are supported by results, scale, context, or examples.
Keywords are not the end goal
Copying every phrase from a job description can make a CV feel artificial. Use accurate terms only when supported by real experience.
Checklist before applying
Make sure the target job is clear, contact information is correct, key achievements are easy to scan, formatting is consistent, and each important skill has evidence. Then ask a person to check whether the narrative makes sense.
